About Last Night|The Puppy Mama App Launch
Posted on 22 March 2017
There's a new app in town! Designed just for puppy parents, Puppy Mama celebrated the launch of its app with a stylish and fun cocktail paw-tay on March 18th, 2017 in San Francisco. The event was held at the SF SPCA, and 50 percent of the proceeds of ticket sales were donated to the facility to help draw awareness to the rescue dog mission.
Paw-lished and refined, it was a Rose-Gold paw-tay, and the best styled lady received a gorgeous Rose-Gold watch. Hors d'oeuvres were available during the event and the signature cocktails of the night were PAW-megranate margaritas and Cosmo-PAW-litans. Also served were a rose sparkling wine, wine, beer, soda and lemonade.
The paw-tay fun included a rose carpet with professional photography, a dog-friendly wine tasting, dog trainers who taught the puppies new tricks, a DJ and dancing, and a puppy selfie station. The joy evident in every single photo shows how important our furry family members are in our lives. The puppies heal us; they love us; they bring us companionship and immeasurable joy.
The original Puppy Mama is the founder and CEO, Theresa Piasta. After serving 14 months in Iraq, Theresa was awarded a Bronze star for her service, but suffered from debilitating PTSD. Her puppy, Waffles, helped Theresa to conquer the pain with unending love and comfort. Theresa soon realized that she wasn't alone in her pawsion for Waffles and that canine therapy is a successful treatment for many illnesses. She also recognized that our puppies are not always welcome everywhere we want to take them.
Only 8 percent of workplaces and 2 percent of restaurants in the United States will allow our pets to accompany us. It's also hard to know which establishments are pet-friendly and which ones are not. Thus Puppy Mama was born. The goal of Puppy Mama is to utilize technology to advocate for the healing power of canine therapy and a more pup-friendly world. We need to be able to bring our best friends wherever we go.
With the app, we'll be able to connect with other Puppy Mamas and not only share the pawssion, but schedule play dates, and rate businesses on their pet-friendliness. The launch paw-tay was just the beginning for us. We want to host paw-ties around the world to not only bring our communities together, but to shine light on the pawsomeness that our furry friends bring to our world.
Helping us to shine that light are our Silver sponsors (iFetch and PlanetDog) and our Bronze sponsors (Casper, Sbragia Family Vineyards, Whiskey & Lace, Rumba Time, and Alex Vakulin Photography).
