In nearly every culture across the globe, human beings have met the urge for self expression with storytelling and adornment. Ancient cultures used metals, precious stones and textiles to express their stories and pass on their legends. It is just this spirit that motivates Oregon-based jewelry designer Lindsey Alonzo.
The name of Lindsey’s jewelry line, LunaSol, combines the beacons, Luna ((MOON)) and Sol ((SUN)); a moniker which speaks to the culture and spirit of design that her work embodies. Inspired by the textures and colors of jewelry from around the world, she designs pieces that feature detailed metal work with a handcrafted aesthetic. Borrowing from ancient Mexican, Native American and African cultures allows Lindsey to extend the symbolic energy adorning her pieces to present day, as well as connect to her own Mexican roots.
